Part 12: Perks

Perks (aka Skills, Abilities, Power-Ups, etc) are items usually earned as rewards for progression, often by level-up or by completing certain quests. These items can grant new Attributes, Status Conditions, or Stat Modifiers. You can use the Unlock property and the hasPerk[] function to require certain Perks to be gained before others are available.

Unlock#

Unlock tells the system when this Trait is actually effective. Even if a character has a specific Trait they do not gain the benefits of it until the Unlock condition is met.

Unlock TypeDescription
ImmediatelyAlways unlocked, no conditions.
At Character LevelBecomes available once the character reaches a specified level.
At Class LevelBecomes available once the character reaches a specific level in a certain class.
By ExpressionUnlocks only when a set expression such as strength >= 12 is true.

Attributes#

This list of Attributes will be added to the player once they have this Perk.

Status Conditions#

This list of Status Condition will be added to the player once they have this Perk.

Stat Modifiers#

This list allows you to add Stat Modifiers to the character once they have this Perk.
